Random spilling of thought, freewriting style

Hmm, I feel the need to place something profound here, yet it is 11pm and I am tired. I guess I will say that working split shifts and/or 11 hour days is not a healthy way of life.

I bought 3 books for 110$ today, and two 3$ pairs of sandals and a pack of socks.
I am going to buy an acoustic guitar. Send links and reccomendations if you play guitar. 300$ and less range, preferably less.

I cannot WAIT until I go to Hope in two months (wow, only two months away!). I cannot believe how awsome the college is, how wonderful everyone there is, and how great of a fit it will be for me. God wanted me to go there, made it painfully obvious, and while I do wish the rest of my life was filled with choices that obvious, I am ecstatic about what he has in store for me up there.

I absolutely love the song But Beautiful. It is one of the songs I am playing right now and it is what the title suggests.

I need to start using english properly in everyday speech, I have caught myself many times today mincing sentances, implying words, and leaving out verbs. I also need to do 10,000 pushups.

I have been dreading this, So I will do it poorly.

OK, I guess I will put in the rest, but I will make it the radically- abridged- by- ADHD- monkeys- with- scissors- version.

Wed after exam.

Went to Cone, saw Lauren D again and bought a double thick chocolate malt.
Went to Felicia's to a Monty Python 'party.' From this experience I learned very much.
Came home to watch a Stargate with Dad.
Caleb, Sonja, Sam, Joe showed up for wiffle ball.
Stayed for Texas Hold 'em (really good hand where Joe totally had me and we both went all in, me with two pair and he with a straight. On the last card [is it the turn?] I ended up with a full house.)
Joe stayed the night, we played a retro game of Conquerors.

Thurs. Massive chilling was accomplished. I played Dad in a retro game of Star Wars Rebellion because we are so excited for Star Wars Empire at War to come out. I fixed the lawn mower because no-one else could, I dusted off the Halo 2 CD and started climbing ranks again.

Fri. Sleep forever, go to work.

Sat. Chillin'

Sun. Chillin'

Mon. Work, got sunburnt.

Tues. Piano lesson, chilled and had a fabulous time at Nick's playing music. Got lost trying to make it to his concert later (Hyde Park, though similar in name to Eden Park, is not the same thing.) Had lots of fun still, Jenny showed up later than me. Went to food afterwards with the band and Jenny. Great night.

Wed. Chillin' till work. Had the worst itching sunburn ever when I got home.

Thurs. Work, almost got 40$ for throwing Brittanny into the pool, but Chuck retracted the offer at the last moment.

Fri. Work, get yelled at.

Sat. Work, failed to go to Batman nor play Halo with Joe, Ray, John.

Sun. Church, Father's Day, Rebellion, the computers failed to let Joe and I play Conquerors.

Work tomorrow late, I should go early and work out (monday shall henceforth be known as leg day) and stop by the library to retrieve some fantastic reading material so I do not waste away before the soothing glow of an electronic screen all summer and actually learn something. Suggestions of good books to read should be posted below.

(recent Halo game, Slayer Warlock, I died with 13 kills, then went on a 12 spree including 2 triple kills to win the game. This made me very very very very very happy in a way that only slaughtering armies of your enemies can accomplish.)

Freedom

In the words of William Wallace, "FREEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOM!"

School is finally out. It has been a long, hard time, but I made it. I am not sure what grades I will get, and right now I care the least of any time in my life. Here follows an account of the time since the last post.

My Graduation Party.

I had almost 50 people show up and it was amazing. Felicia came a half hour early because she didn't get too lost, and people started drifting in after that. We had a ton of food and drinks, and so many people came (thank you all). A pick up game of backyard football came into being, and it got up to 7 vs. 7 by the end. There were some spectacular catches (most by Craig), and although it was two hand touch, some spectacular take-downs too. Felicia and Jordan hit eachother rather hard, both faces were reported to be swollen the next day. I hit Kim in her shoulder with my head. Very much fun. The party officially ended at 5, but people stayed a much longer time than that. Caleb stayed the longest, 9:30, and came to my house the next few days to eat the leftover food.

The next three days were spent working, schooling, and ignoring school work. I wanted to be done so badly I thought that I could ignore it and it would go away.

Thursday was very fun. I had to wake up (boo) but we had commencement practice. Our superintendant gave a speech trying to milk yes votes for his levy, just for that I am going to show up and vote no. No one knows the seating order or how it happens, but I sat in the front row next to Kim (saludatorian), which was fun. Afterwards, Kim, Caleb and I went to a small lunch at Skyline, then to my house for more food, desert, and Halo. We had some really good games, but the best was the one that Kim and I lost to Caleb and Tanner (10 year old brother) by one point. We got made fun of, but I was quite proud of Kim getting 6 kills when her definition of fighting is "press every button at once and jam the thumbsticks in random directions." Then I informed them that they killed her, a newbie, over 30 of the 50 kills they got, and I easily crushed either of them in individual stats. But we are nerds.

Friday was commencement. Kim had managed to get bitten by a jack russel on her nose thursday night at a party and her nose was all beaten up. Commencement was not fun. I walked in very near first and had to stand for five minutes as the rest of the class funneled in. I made up 5 harmonies to Pomp and Circumstance before I could take no more and retreated to my happy place in my imagination. Luckily I sat down at the right time. I sat for a very long time attempting to look interested as many people gave speeches (they weren't bad speeches, there were just too many of them), and then I walked up to get my diploma. I shook the principles hand, made it back to my seat, and waited what seemed like an hour while the rest of the class got theirs. When it was finally over, I was one of the last ones out. NOTE TO HIGH SCHOOLS: the smart kids are the ones that are making your high school look good, raising your test scores and being good alumni. Do not punish them.

Afterwards, my family went out to applebee's and ordered every dessert they have on the menu. Scott showed up so he ate with us. An hour or so after I got there, Caleb arrived with Kelsey and Katie. They somehow managed to get off on the wrong exit twice and are so directionally impaired that they ended up at Mason high school trying to get to Fields-Ertel by surface streets. Dinner was good then Scott came over and I showed him the new Halo maps.

That weekend, there were so many graduation parties. I went to Janelle's, then Joel's, where a game of backyard volleyball was much enjoyed, then Joe's. I stayed at Joe's until midnight, and that was one of the most fun times I have had in a while. Joe had a new kareoke set, and everyone was trying it out. Nick finally came and we were able to hear his song (we were all almost crying). We played piano back and forth for a while, and just hung out talking. Sunday I went to church then Craig's graduation, then Laura's graduation (extreme ping pong? oh yes.) I headed over to Jeanna's grad party, then made my way to Sarah's. Then I went home and studied.

Then the week of papers happened. I had two lab reports in physics due tuesday, a physics ethics paper due friday, and a french paper due wednesday. I ripped through the physics labs, got them turned in alright. The French paper was hard. I posted it in my other blog (although I doubt anyone can read it, it was after all, in French.) The first part of the week was dedicated to these papers and the other minor annoyances like studying and homework. Wednesday was awsome though. After school I came immediately home and vegged for a while. I ate a quick dinner and called Kim to confirm what we were doing. She had totally forgotten about it so she rushed through a shower and forgot to eat dinner, but we laughed about it and headed downtown with her hair still wet. We met up with Joe, Laura, Raymond, and Mr. and Mrs. Pettricca at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival. Nick was Brutus in Julius Ceasar. The play was good, but Nick outshone everyone by quite a bit. He had one minor slip where he just didn't know what to act out so he made something up and it broke continuity, but that was the only complaint. He was absolutely outstanding. He killed Ceasar (pun intended) and just every word was well enunciated and the motions and gestures were so real, it seemed less like Shakespeare and more like a movie.
After the play we congradulated him, then Joe took Laura home. Kim decided she would rather go out somewhere than follow the cast party, and I am glad we did. After some nifty driving, we ended up at P. F. Chang's for some wonton soup and orange peel shrimp. It was so fun and relaxed. We made it home eventually, then talked for an hour and she saw the newborn bunnies.

Thursday I slept in, then spent the whole day writing the ethics paper. Well, I got on the laptop at 4pm, and started writing for real around 10pm, and finished the 5th page by 2am, so I was fairly happy with it. I also posted it in the other blog, but you can read that one (but it is long). I then had the pleasure of guarding the outdoor pool. It was so refreshing that when I came home, although I was dog tired, I still felt compulsed to write poetry, the results of which are posted (you guessed it) on the other blog. I guess I should link? writingphysicist.blogspot.com

On Saturday, I went to Felicia's graduation party, 'twas neat to see her whole family again. I went to my old work, the local ice cream shoppe (The Cone of West Chester) with the bug because they had a classic car drive in. I won a Cone T-shirt (like I didn't already have a million of those from working there...), took Felicia and Allyson driving in the bug because it is cool to cruise around with girls in a '69 VW Beetle. I headed over to Calebs and we had some incredibly hilarious conversations, that was the hardest I have laughed in a few months. I came home and studied, like the wonderful geek I am.

The next day the three siblings and mom left for Virginia early in the morning, and I woke up an hour after my alarm went off, wrote the rest of the thank you's, made it to the last church service late, and put them in mailboxes. Got home, studied, went to Kayleigh's performance, went to brocks house, went to bed.

Kayleighs performance was great. It was like a sampling from a bunch of different things. Some of the pieces were just very short, but all of them were good. Kayleigh is a great actress, she was even outshining her classmates in some of the performances (this is an elite group, a private two year preperatory program run by UC for high school students). She did a wonderful evil angry tyrant and goth, and thinking back, her teary character in the car was great because I didn't notice it being outstanding at the time, it seemed just so real. The other kids were great too (especially Kendall and the blonde guy). I kind of studied math during the performance when I could (when Kayleigh wasn't on stage and the skit wasn't particularly engaging.)
At Brock's, I failed to get much studying done yet managed to stay up until 2 anyways. Kayleigh texted me at 2:15 (scared me to death, I had JUST turned out all the lights.) If the reader wishes something to pray about, Brock is really seeking right now, and has said that he wants to become a Christian, so thats a good situation that the Holy Spirit just needs to keep pushing in.

EXAM WEEK:
MONDAY: Math .........................Eh, decent. I forgot one thing (factoring irrational polynomials), and the rest was arithmatic. So of course I made many errors. Ended up with a B in the class, and considering how little effort I put into it, I guess that is better than I deserve. Too bad the exam was at 7:30 am.
The rest of the day was dedicated to doing physics hw.

Tuesday: review session for physics, copied the board of all knowingness, and then failed to properly memorise it

Wednesday: Physics.... AND French. Physics was slightly earlier than normal, and he started it 15 mins earlier. I knew what I was doing, but mis-memorised the formulae, so I bet I missed some stuff there. I ended up with an A- in the class, which means the prof likes me and I didnt do well on the exams. French was not hard and by the end we were all just talking with eachother. THEN!!!

I WAS DONE.

FOREVER!!!!!!!

With the time in my life called high-school. Now I get to go on to REAL college, and I hope I have more motivation this go-round. It took me about three days to finally chronical all of this, and in that time the two grades became posted, so that is the reason for the discrepancy in the first paragraph and this last part here. I still have to do the rest of Wednesday (oh, of course there was heavy partying[heavy for me anyways] after the exams ended), Thursday, Friday, and I am sure tomorrow will be exciting. As a side note, you do not capitalize the days of the week in french. Or languages for that matter.
